About the Stratford-upon-Avon Guild

The Association of Guilds of Weavers Spinners and Dyers UK (WSD UK) is a national association that promotes the interests of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers in the UK. Its objectives are the preservation and improvement of craftsmanship in hand weaving, spinning and dyeing. There is also the WSD Online Guild affiliated to WSD UK that you can belong to from anywhere in the world.

The WSD Stratford-upon-Avon Guild is one of over a hundred WSD UK Guilds listed on the Association of Guilds of Weavers Spinners and Dyers UK website. The WSD Stratford UK Guild is a small enthusiastic and friendly group of 30+ Weavers Spinners and Dyers and welcomes new members. Visitors are also most welcome to attend any of our meetings to talk with members and to see what we do.

We have a varied and interesting programme of weaving, spinning and dyeing but also include the history of textiles, felting, braiding, card making, crocheting, knitting, and other related fields. Our members hold a variety of skills and interests, from growing natural dyes to ply-splitting. Our members come from a large area, including Rugby, Bromsgrove, Coventry, Leamington Spa, Knowle, Birmingham and, of course, Stratford-upon-Avon.
